Media Searches

The user can Type in any Text that the System should search for. The user has the Option of selecting where the system should be Searching for the Text. When the Page is Opened all Check Boxes  are Checked. The implication of this being that the System will do a search, for the Text that was entered in the (i) Title (ii) Subtitle (iii) Description and (iv) the Abstract. The user can deselect some of the main search areas by Left Clicking on the Selection Check Box. When this is done the Check Mark will be Removed (). By selecting less Search Areas the system search will be more optimized (the search will be quicker).

 

The user can Select Status of the Media as a Search Criteria.  The user selects the Status of the Media by Left Clicking on the Drop Down List Box (). When this is done a list of available Statuses will be displayed. Select the applicable Status by Left Clicking on it in the list.

 

The user can Enter a part of the ISBN-10 Number as a Search Criteria.

 

 

The user can Enter a part of the ISBN-13 Number as a Search Criteria.

 

The user can Type in the Authors detail as a Search Criteria.

 

The user can Type in the Publishers detail as a Search Criteria.

 

Should the Media have been defined as being Illustrated it can be used as a Search Criteria.

The user can Type in the Accession detail as a Search Criteria.

The user can Select the Series for the Media as a Search Criteria.  The user selects the Series for the Media by Left Clicking on the Drop Down List Box (). When this is done a list of available Series will be displayed. Select the applicable Series by Left Clicking on it in the list.

 

The user can Select the Genre for the Media as a Search Criteria.  The user selects the Genre for the Media by Left Clicking on the Drop Down List Box (). When this is done a list of available Genres will be displayed. Select the applicable Genre by Left Clicking on it in the list.

 

The user can Enter the Publication Year for the Media as a Search Criteria.

 

The user can Select the Language for the Media as a Search Criteria.  The user selects the Language for the Media by Left Clicking on the Drop Down List Box (). When this is done a list of available Languages will be displayed. Select the applicable Language by Left Clicking on it in the list.

 

The user can Select the Group for the Media as a Search Criteria.  The user selects the Group for the Media by Left Clicking on the Drop Down List Box (). When this is done a list of available Media Groups will be displayed. Select the applicable Media Group by Left Clicking on it in the list.

 

The user can Select the Media Type for the Media as a Search Criteria.  The user selects the Media Type by Left Clicking on the Drop Down List Box (). When this is done a list of available Media Types will be displayed. Select the applicable Media Type by Left Clicking on it in the list.

 

The user can Select the Media Category for the Media as a Search Criteria.  The user selects the Category for the Media by Left Clicking on the Drop Down List Box (). When this is done a list of available Categories will be displayed. Select the applicable Media Category by Left Clicking on it in the list.

 

When all selection Criteria has been Entered / Selected, the Search for the Media that Matches this Criteria, is Initiated by Left Clicking on the Search Button. When the Search has been completed a list of all the Results will be displayed - Refer to Media Search Result.
