In order for the school to send SMS messages to Family or Staff members, the school has to be registered at EDUPAC®as a SMS Service User.Cell phone numbers must be entered in the profiles, internet access must be available and Edupac Enterprise Edition must be set up to make use of this functionality.
Contact Edupac’s Finance Department to register as an Edupac SMS User.
Normal rated SMS’s are the default and lowest cost SMS’s that is used, but the School can apply to send Premium rated SMS’s. Premium rated SMS’s are more expensive (nearly double the cost of Normal rated), but delivery is guaranteed within a short period of time.
Two options are available:
(i) Pre-paid SMS Users
Pre-paid users use SMS’s on the “Pay As You Go” method. SMS’s are purchased in bundles of 1000, pre-paid and used. The school’s account can be topped up at any time (in bundles of 1000).
(ii) Contract SMS Users
A school wishing to use this method sign a debit order instruction with EDUPAC® and pays the SMS’s used during this month by the middle of next month.
The SMS URL fieldis a Required field (). Enter “edupacsms.activesms.com” in the SMS URL field. Should the user not enter a SMS URL and attempts to Save () the information the system will give an indication () that this is compulsory information.
The Username field is a Required field (). EDUPAC® will supply the school with a uniqueUsername upon registration. Should the user not enter a Usernameand attempts to Save () the information the system will give an indication () that this is compulsory information.
The Password fieldis a Required field (). EDUPAC® will supply the school with a uniquePassword upon registration. Should the user not enter a Passwordand attempts to Save () the information the system will give an indication () that this is compulsory information.
When all information has been entered the SMS Settings are saved by Left Clicking on the Save Button (). Should the user want to Cancel the Add Action, Left Click on the Cancel Button ().
